Meet The Daytona Reflux Center Surgeons

Joseph D. Bianchi
Surgeon, Medical Director
Joseph D. Bianchi, MD, FACS is a Board Certified General Surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a graduate of the University Of Florida College Of Medicine and completed his surgical training in Roanoke, Virginia where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. He has been providing exceptional surgical care in Volusia County area since 1997. During that time, he has served in many leadership roles including, President of the Medical Staff, Chairman of the Credential Committee, and Trauma Medical Director. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Florida State University College of Medicine.
He has special interest and training in diseases of thyroid and parathyroid, as well as all aspects of skin cancer and breast cancer and disease. He has advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques in the treatment of all abdominal disease processes including gallbladder, hernias, colon and GERD.

Michael Fabian
Surgeon
Michael Fabian, MD, FACS is a Board-Certified General Surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He graduated from Duke University School of Medicine in 1986, and completed his surgical residency in Tampa, Florida at the University of South Florida. He has been in practice in Daytona Beach since 1993 and was Chief of the Department of Surgery at Halifax Health from 2011 to 2013. Dr. Fabian’s practice expertise includes all aspects of general surgery, including skin cancer and melanoma. He has a special interest in advanced breast cancer surgical techniques, and participates in a weekly multidisciplinary breast conference. He is skilled in advanced laparoscopic surgery; including hernias, anti-reflux surgery, colon and gallbladder surgery.

Mark White
Surgeon
Mark White, MD, FACS is a Board Certified General Surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. White was born and raised in Ormond Beach where his father practiced Pediatric medicine. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed his 5-year surgical residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Dr. White returned to the Daytona Beach area in 2001 to begin his practice in surgery. His surgical interests include minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, diseases of the breast, hernia surgery, and anti-reflux surgery. He works with the Florida State University College of Medicine students as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery. He is also an instructor for the American College of Surgeons Advanced Trauma Life Support course. Outside of work he enjoys golf, surfing, and traveling with his friends and family all over the world.

Tara Wilson
Surgeon
Dr. Tara Wilson is a board-certified General Surgeon, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Originally from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma her family travels took her to Colorado where she attended high school. After completing undergraduate studies in Biology and French at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California she was commissioned in the US Navy and attended the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences for medical school. She is a Navy Veteran and her time in the service as a surgeon allowed her to serve in multiple international humanitarian crises to include the tsunami in Indonesia, anti-piracy efforts in the Gulf of Aden, and the earthquake in Haiti. With her interest in education she also served as the Assistant Program Director for the General Surgery Residency in Portsmouth, Virginia. After 16 years of military service, Dr. Wilson and her family returned to Oklahoma where she practiced for the last 8 years as a general surgeon.
She enjoys performing the full spectrum of general surgery including treatment of skin cancer, benign and malignant breast disease, gallbladder disease, intestinal and colorectal disorders including colorectal cancer, hemorrhoids, and all types of abdominal and inguinal hernias. Dr. Wilson has a special interest in minimally invasive techniques to include use of the laparoscopic/robotic instruments for abdominal procedures and hidden scar and nipple sparing techniques for the breast. She is committed to providing patient-centered surgical care that is personalized to the needs of each individual patient along with the highest quality.
She enjoys spending off time with her husband, children and 2 dogs and is looking forward to everything the local area has to offer.

Amanda Briese
DO
Dr. Amanda Briese grew up in Ormond Beach, Florida and always knew she wanted to be a doctor. Before and during medical school, she had the opportunity to work with the North Florida Surgeons team, where she discovered her passion for patient care and the meaningful relationships built through surgery. She went on to study at the University of Florida for her undergraduate, earned a Master’s in Neuroscience from the University of South Florida, and complete her medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton. She completed her General Surgery Residency training in Wilmington, North Carolina at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center. During her training she received her certification in Robotic Surgery, reflecting her advanced training in minimally invasive, robot-assisted procedures.
Known for her compassionate approach, Dr. Briese values taking the time to truly connect with her patients and guide them through their care with empathy and respect. She’s especially excited to now provide care for the same community where she first began her medical career.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys practicing yoga as a certified instructor, spending time outdoors with her dog, traveling, enjoying live music, and making memories with her family and friends.

Nicholas Georgalas
MD
Nicholas Georgalas, MD, is a Board-Certified General Surgeon providing comprehensive surgical care with an emphasis on safety, precision, and patient-centered outcomes. He earned his medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo in 2017 and completed his general surgery residency there in 2022. Following residency, Dr. Georgalas completed a fellowship in Jacksonville, Florida, where he developed advanced expertise in minimally invasive and complex surgical techniques.
Dr. Georgalas offers a broad range of surgical services, including procedures for gallbladder disease, hernias, anti-reflux surgery, colon, thyroid, and parathyroid conditions. He is dedicated to creating individualized treatment plans that combine modern surgical innovation with compassionate, evidence-based care.

Narges Mazloom
DO
Dr. Mazloom is a Board-Certified Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist) who provides personalized, compassionate, and highly skilled medical and surgical care for her adult and pediatric patients. Dr. Mazloom has over twelve years of dedicated service.
Dr. Mazloom graduated from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her Residency at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Michigan.
She has called Florida home for ten years and enjoys the beautiful outdoors and beaches with her husband and their two young children. She loves to travel and experience what the world has to offer!

Tracy Anderson, Clinical Care Coordinator, was born and raised in South Florida. Beginning at 18 years old she worked in hospital pharmacies as a technician for over 15 years. During that time, she moved to Illinois where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Elmhurst College. Tracy has 20+ years experience working with people of all ages and challenges in life. Her passion is helping others and it brings her great joy to work at North Florida Surgeons with a team of dedicated physicians and staff who truly put the patients first.
